Practice makes you perfect

Kaaliya loved to listen when anyone was playing the piano-she thought the music was very pretty and she decided one day that she was going to be a musician. She told this to her parents and they told her that she could do anything she wanted to do as long as she set her mind to it.

They wanted to give Kaaliya every chance of making her dreams come true so they bought her a piano and some piano lessons. Every day after school she would listen diligently to her music teacher and try her very best to play what she was taught. When she played for her parents at home, they were very happy that she was getting better. She spent weeks learning how to play the piano after that because she wanted to be the best.

One day there was a notice that there was going to be a town fair, and that there will be performers from all over the city. The notice also said that anyone in town could register if they wanted to perform. Kaaliya was excited and asked her parents if they could sign up for her to perform. They told her that she would be performing in front of a large number of people, and that it could be a very hard thing to do. Kaaliya didn’t mind the crowd-she just wanted to play so everyone could hear how beautiful her music was.

On the day of the performance, everyone was excited and nervous all at once. Kaaliya was too, but she was ready. When it was her turn to begin, she sat behind the piano and started playing her song. Everyone was surprised that she could play so well and Kaaliya was very happy when they started clapping. She got so excited she missed some of the notes and had to stop. She was about to cry when she heard everyone cheering her on. She realised that they wanted to hear her play some more, so she started to play again. When she was finished, everyone stood up and applauded her.

She smiled and waved as she left the stage.

Practice makes perfect, and even if it doesn’t, it always brings improvement. Never stop when you stumble-just brush yourself off and keep going. The world is cheering you on.
