Lies happen to be a very convenient way,
Of escaping judgement,
Or acquiring things in less than honest ways.
There is the current pleasure that is felt,
When it is first told,
And relief upon not being discovered.
But this relief doesn’t usually last long,
As one lie leads to another,
And soon there is an empire of them,
That if left unattended,
Will crumble and bury you within.
Be careful of the web you weave,
Lest you be caught in the trap you have set.
