The essence of real friendship is not found in years,
How often you spend time together,
Or how many things you have between you that you share.
It is found in the ways you express that friendship,
Through mutual affection and support for the other.
Someone need not be in your life for a long time,
For them to become your friend.
It is usually the persons, who are there,
Whom you can rely on for support,
Encouragement, respect, honesty, laughter and tears.
Do not confuse the persons who might always be there,
Because you serve some basic need to them,
As your friends.
Know the real friends you have,
And appreciate them.
